About me
I am Elna Perkins. I moved to Grand Canyon, Arizona, in 2013. I grew up in California but met my husband while at college in Utah. We have three daughters. I have held many jobs, but I have always been a teacher at heart. I have worked as a middle school librarian, a substitute teacher, a special education paraprofessional, a trainer of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) for special education teachers and paraprofessionals, and a teacher of history and English Language Arts.
I earned my bachelor's degree in History from Brigham Young University in Provo in 1997. I put my teaching plans on hold while I raised my family. My daughters are adults now, which leaves time for me to help more children and teenagers by teaching in a school setting. I received my teaching certificate from Prescott College in the Fall of 2017 and taught at Grand Canyon School from 2016-2023. I am happy to be part of the FALA family now!
