Middle School & High School
*Be kind and work for the common good. Embody our Habits of Hand, HeART, Mind.
*Be respectful of faculty, peers, and campus environment including students’ artwork and workspace.
*Please keep your conversational volume to a level that can only be heard at your table.
*No speaking poorly of other students or teachers - not the FALA way. Save the drama for your (other) Llama.
*Students are individually responsible for classroom cleanup, working together for the common good of our shared space, tools, and equipment.
*Wash and put materials away (do not leave brushes, pallets, etc. in the drying racks).
*Cell phones must be turned off. No texting, no social media, no gaming.
*No working on non-art assignments.
*Art class is not a study hall for any other course including other arts courses.
*Any student finished with artwork and not using “free time” for art making, will be assigned cleaning and room organizing tasks (though the preference is ALWAYS that art time is used for art making).
*No wasting of supplies!!!! You can always pour more paint onto your pallet.
*You pay a lab fee to purchase materials for this course. Do not expect to use art supplies for other classes.
*Friends not enrolled in a studio art course with me cannot take art supplies for which they did not pay a lab fee in my studio arts courses.
*Students must stay in the room at your table, or engaged in common good cleaning tasks, until the bell rings. No hanging out by the door waiting for the bell. Show investment in your artwork and workspace.
I attended CCC and obtained my associates degree before transitioning to NAU graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Art Education. During my college career I studied many different mediums of art including but not limited to mixed media, drawing, installation, sculpture, ceramics and (my favorite) painting. I also had the opportunity to see many art works in person through my program especially when attending a summer course in England. I graduated Outstanding Senior for the College of Arts and Letters in 2018.
I am certified in teaching kindergarten through 12th grade art. I student taught at Coconino High School along with participating in trade school events for high schoolers on the Navajo Reservation. I previously was the art educator at DeMiguel Elementary school in Flagstaff. While I was there I was nominated for Rookie Teacher of the Year for Coconino County.
I love teaching at FALA and cannot wait for what this year has in store for all of us!
