RMOA Business Institute (RBI)

Who Are We

The RMOA Business Institute (RBI) is a 501(c) (3) educational non-profit organization whose mission is to provide experienced-based entrepreneurial training and mentoring to Veteran and Non-Veteran RMOA members.

The knowledge, skills, and leadership abilities acquired during military service help veterans to become successful entrepreneurs The overall goal of the Institute is to provide tangible business growth benefits to its members that may not be available in other business associations.

Specific objectives are to:

Help members start and grow successful small businesses
Provide a means for getting feedback on problems in a confidential environment
Help members obtain SDVOSB and other certifications
Develop a reference library of small business cases studies

RBI Program Managers

Col (Ret.) James George, MBA

Richard B. Johnson II, MBA

Col George is Chairman of MSTI. During his 27 year army career he has served in a variety of infantry and comptroller positions both overseas and in the United States, including two tours in Vietnam; tours in Korea and Europe; as well as the Pentagon.

Col George has earned a BS degree from Hampton University, where the school of business is named after him. Col George has an MBA from the University of Arizona and graduated from the Army War College as well.

Richard B. Johnson II is a seasoned business professional with over 18 years of experience spanning corporations, start-ups, private equity firms, and Fortune 100 organizations.

Richard holds both a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from Florida A&M His dedication to excellence, diversity, and leadership is evident through his professional success and impactful community involvement.

RBI’s comprehensive program features

Uses the Kauffman FastTrac curriculum.
Self-paced online curriculums
Instruction and mentoring by Veterans and non-veterans currently operating successful businesses
Internships
An incubation phase to help launch new businesses
Certificate of Completion
Technical assistance that continues after graduation.

RMOA membership and RBI enrollment are open to any aspiring entrepreneur who desires to create or grow a small business in either small business category, whether woman-owned, 8(a), Hub Zone, SDVOSB, VOSB, or small business.
