Track & Field at Sunny Hills HS runs from January - May with two open tryouts per year in August and December.

Athletic Clearance

In order to participate in tryouts, practices, or meets students must be athletically cleared by Sunny Hills High School. Clearance steps can be found here: https://www.sunnyhills.net/275543_2

Tryouts

Open tryouts for Lancer Track & Field take place in August and December (schedule listed below). All tryouts will consist of 4 events that are measured and ranked. Prospective athletes need to participate in all 4 events. Athletes who participate in Fall or Winter sports will tryout once their season ends with additional dates communicated to their respective coaches. 

Events:  40-yd dash / 400m run / Broad Jump / Backwards Overhead Med Ball Throw

Dates & Times:

• Fall Tryouts -- August 7, 2025 @ SH Track; 9:00 - 11:00 am 

• Winter Tryouts -- December 4th & 5th, 2025 @ SH Track; 3:45 - 5:15 pm (same activities on both days)
