Mithzael Jean-Baptiste is a New York based artist of Haitian descent currently working in various mediums such as painting, drawing, photography and design. From a young age, he has used multiple forms of art to express inner thoughts and observations of the world around him. He is tackling the thematic ideas of escapism, over stimulation, youth, vices, personal relationships, repressed rage and self reflection. When painting, his subjects tend to be figurative yet abstracted with accents of bold colors that allude to that sense of surrealism. In creating physical pieces and/or working on alternative projects, he thinks of how the final result will affect the viewer emotionally.  He strives to find and blend that sense of curiosity in both his dream-state realm and in his everyday reality and to implement it in each work he completes. As he continues his journey of self development, the translation and cohesiveness within his life and art strengthens.
