The Three Musketeers was a reinterpretation of what's known as the Cavalier look from around the 1620s. A trend set by the royalist supporters of King Charles I, those who would hold high places in society and the military, which consequentially influenced their clothing, seeing as a uniform and a statement. This trend overcame the borders of its time, influencing fashion, men's perception of status, and social behavior, and the arts for the centuries to come. In 1844, the French writer Alexandre Dumas published "The Three Musketeers", the story is set in France between 1625 and 1628 and follows a guy who looked up to the three elite defenders of the king of France and their adventures, but my first contact with the concept was the retelling of his work in the Barbie movie of the same name in 2009, which also inspired me for the unique personalities of each look when creating.
