HE the Australian High Commissioner Paul Stephens visited University of Ruhuna
The Australian High Commissioner HE Paul Stephens and his Wife Mrs. Christina Stephens accompanied by several other delegates from the Australian High Commission, Colombo visited University of Ruhuna on 30th November 2022. He pleasurably discussed with Dr. U.A.D. Jayasinghe (the Project Coordinator for Ruhuna) regarding the ACIAR Project.
Preliminary workshop
Preliminary workshop for all project partners was held in NAQDA Training Centre, Kalawewa on 24th and 25th January 2023 with the participation of Project Leader, Dr Clive Jones from Australia.
Dr. Uta visited University of Ruhuna
Collaborations have been initiated with Kiel University, Germany experts for pesticide analyses and supervision of one MPhil student. Dr. Uta visited in March of 2023 and supervised field sampling techniques.
Progress Meeting
Progress meeting held in November of 2023 at Kelaniya University
The core team members of the ACIAR Project and all Research Assistants participated in a progress meeting held in February of 2024 at Shangri-la Hotel Colombo.
Field visit with German expert for pesticide analyses
Dr. Uta Ulrich from Kiel University visited in March of 2024 and supervised field sampling techniques and laboratory analysis done by the MPill student of University of Ruhuna
Prof. Nicola Fohrer visited University of Ruhuna
Prof. Nicola Fohrer, the Head of the Department of Hydrology & Water Resources Management and an expert in hydrology from Kiel University visited in February of 2024 and delivered speech for undergraduates and others of university of Ruhuna.
