Access Canvas & Clever with Google

CANVAS/Google Drive/Clever
When students are expected to access CLEVER or submit work through Canvas or Google drive it is important to make sure that they sign in to the browser with their school Google account.
Clever (Used mostly with K-5 students but other students may use it at times.) Clever works best with versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge and IE released in 2013 and later. We recommend using the Chrome browser for an optimized experience.
You will need to install the Clever extension for Chrome, Firefox, or Edge to access saved-password applications such as Stemscopes. The Chrome extension page is linked to each browser mentioned above.
Clever is compatible with all computer devices. Check out the articles below regarding Clever's integration with Chromebooks and iPads specifically:
To log into Saved-password applications, users must use the Clever Portal with Chrome, Firefox, or Edge with the appropriate extension installed. (Click the name of your browser above to go to extension page.)
On a shared family device with other Google account holders you will need to sign out of Google or add a user to the browser.
The easiest way to logout of Google is to go to google.com and click your icon in the upper right and scroll down to the sign out button.
Once signed out you will see a sign in button in the upper right of the google.com page.
Click Sign In
Student Google Login:
Students log in to Google with the email format: firstlast@fisdk12.org (If there is more than one student with your child’s first and last name there may be a 1 at the end of their name. The first part of their email, before the @ sign, is limited to 20 characters.)
Grades K-2 student password is their birth date (MMDDYYYY).
Grades 3-5 student password is their 6 digit student id.
Grades 6-12 students passwords are created by the student. Their initial password is their 6 digit id number. They can go to portal.fisdk12.net to recover a forgotten password if they set their security questions. Email helpdesk@fisdk12.net if you need further assistance.
Once logged in to Google they can access their resources through Canvas or Clever.
Accessing Content:
Once logged in to Google a student can go to myfisd.instructure.com to access their CANVAS courses. They will click the “Student or Teacher” button to login.
To access Clever they go to: Clever.com/in/myfisd and click the login with Google button. The student must be logged in to Google on the computer to access their content in Clever.
