Friendswood High School Musical
Founded in 1969 by Dr. Myrlene Kennedy, the Friendswood High School MUSICAL was established as an all-school musical production. Performances are the last weekend in January and the first weekend of February. Any FHS student, through the audition process, can be part of an enriching process of a performing group on stage through singing, dancing and acting. Students selected for the ensemble, crew, and pit band receive .5 state fine arts credit. In the past 52 years, over 350 students have received musical scholarships. The FHS Musical has been a recipient of several Tommy Tune Awards, including the Best Musical in 2006 for their production of South Pacific and again in 2018 for The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
