About FISAT

Federal Institute of Science And Technology (FISAT)® is a private self financing Engineering College, established and run by the Federal Bank Officers' Association Educational Society (FBOAES), an initiative of the Federal Bank Officers Association (FBOA), the sole representative body of the entire officers of the Federal Bank. FISAT has a unique position in the Professional Education Sector in South India and has designed itself to work with the motto "Focus on Excellence" to carve a niche for itself in the education world, eloquently demonstrated by the flying colors attained by its students. FISAT is affiliated to MG University and APJ Abdul Kalam Kerala Technological University. The college offers Six B.Tech programs, Six M.Tech programs, Two MCA programs and an MBA Programme.

In recognition of the Institute’s academic excellence and overall growth, FISAT has been accredited with ‘A’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and five undergraduate programs are accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

About the Department of Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering started offering B.Tech programme in Civil Engineering in the year 2011 with an intake of 60, which was increased to 120 in the year 2013. M.Tech in Structural Engineering and Construction Management was added in the year 2014 with an intake of 24. A team of qualified faculty with ample experience is the highlight of the Department. Both the programs emphasise on industry and research based projects, which would enhance their skills to become successful professionals for a holistic development.

Emerge as a Center of Excellence in Civil Engineering, fostering globally competent and socially committed Civil Engineers who will contribute to the nation building process.

Mission of the Department of Civil Engineering

M1: To provide a comprehensive education and training at the levels of materials, tools, planning, analysis, design and maintenance of structures

M2: To encourage research and development in the field of civil engineering that are useful for the society

M3: To equip the graduate with strong ethical and moral values and make them socially committed.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO)

PEO1: The graduates will have a successful career in industry and government sector with their strong understanding of civil engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental and social context.

PEO2: The graduates will pursue higher studies in the broad domain of Civil Engineering and engage in life-long learning through certifications and activities of professional bodies.

PEO3: The graduates will be successful as entrepreneurs and become a part of the nation building process serving society in a responsible and ethical manner.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSO)

PSO 1: Feasibility of Civil Engineering Projects: Conduct surveys and site investigations for Civil Engineering projects and prepare feasibility reports.

PSO 2: Analysis and Design in Civil Engineering: Plan, analyse and design Civil Engineering solutions giving due consideration to society, cost, safety and sustainability.

PSO 3: Execution of Civil Engineering Projects: Supervise, test and evaluate construction of structures, materials, manage resources and maintenance of structures.
