The first iteration of the current FIS Strategic Plan was created in 2018 and has been refreshed each year. Strategic Planning at FIS is aligned to the NEASC accreditation and IB evaluation processes, which follow a synchronized 5-year cycle.
The Journey So Far
2018-20 - Determined 12 Strategic Impacts based on data from IB Evaluation and NEASC Accreditation in Fall 2017.
2020-21- Evaluated and reorganised the Strategic Impacts, consolidating from 12 to 8,plus the addition of a new Impact Leveraging the Pandemic.
2021-22 - Leveraging the Pandemic is subsumbed into the other Impacts.
2022-23 - Further consolidation of the Strategic Impacts, combining Transforming Assessment with Personalized Learning, and updating terminology to better reflect the language of the school.
2023-2024 - Launch of Artificial Intelligence as a Strategic Impact.
The Strategic Impacts are developed and ratified according to the schedule below (example from 2021).
The Strategic Planning Cycle together with IB Evalution and NEASC Accreditation will both feed into and draw from these processes, and will result in a new Strategic Plan in June 2024.
