Miss Matson

Welcome! My name is Lisa Matson and I taught 1st grade for 15 years before moving to 2nd grade in the 2021-2022 school year. Before coming to Discovery Primary School, I studied math at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma. After spending 2 years working with English Language Learners in the Franklin Pierce School District, I returned to the University of Puget Sound for my teaching certification and masters degree (with endorsements in Elementary Education and Spanish). In the fall of 2010, I received my National Board certification.

When not teaching, I compete in triathlons and running races! I also enjoy traveling and in 2019 visited Germany, France and Iceland. I can't wait for my next adventure!
