Buying an Animal Project

Thank you so much for your support for our students!

The NWJLS.com website will have two options, one to register for just support money and one to liveauctions.tv for watching the sale and bidding online if the buyer is not going to be at the sale in person.

Please remember, the sale order will not be ready until Saturday morning, so you can register to bid for either option, but if you are only adding support money, you cannot do that until the Weigh in, Shows and Sale order is determined as we cannot take donations for any animals that will not be selling.

Please check the NWJLS website as those are being added shortly and once updated we will also post this information on the NWJLS Facebook page.

The Process of Buying an Animal Project**** THERE IS A NEW METHOD FOR 2024 SEE ABOVE****

2. Attend the livestock auction at the Puyallup Spring Fair on April 21st, 2024 @ 10am.

3. Register as a buyer in the auction. Look at the sale order to determine when the animal you are purchasing goes into the ring.

4. Use your number to bid on the animal. Remember, this is a live auction and you can be outbid.

5. After you place the winning bid, you will need to select a cut and wrap shop to send the animal to.

After the Auction:

-NWJLS will contact you about paying either in person day of or they will mail you a bill.

-The cut and wrap shop will contact you about how you would like your animal processed and a pick up time.  On the list of cut and wrap shops below, Lind's Meats provides a cut sheet on their website. Take a look at this to get an idea of what you would like to do.

- It will be your responsibility to drive to the shop and pick up your meat once it is processed, please make sure you are aware of shop locations as you are choosing a cut and wrap shop, which are listed at the bottom of this page.  A few weeks after the auction, April 23rd, 2023, the cut and wrap shop will give you a call to let you know that your meat is ready for pick up. Make sure to bring a large ice chest with your to pick up all of your meat.
