🔹 JoDee Neil – Survivor & Seasoned Courtroom Lawyer
Neil is a fourth-generation Texan and second-generation trial attorney with 20+ years of experience. A former assistant district attorney who served in the Crimes Against Children Division, she has led more than 100 jury trials and is one of the few attorneys with extensive experience working with child witnesses in live legal proceedings.
🔹 Jenny Almquist – Co-Founder, Fierce Freedom
Almquist will share about how her experiences running an anti-trafficking organization led to a shift in more sustainable, restful rhythms that she wants others in the fight against injustice to practice within their own spheres of influence.
🔹 Starla Thompson, Founder, Walks with Good Heart & US Dept of Justice 904 Task Force Member
Thompson (Waben Gizhek Kwé — First Light That Breaks the Night Woman) is an enrolled citizen of the Forest County Potawatomi Nation, member of the Otter Clan, and founder of Walks With a Good Heart, LLC. She is a leader with Waking Women Healing Institute, an Indigenous and survivor-led organization addressing the crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S), and serves on the U.S. Department of Justice 904 Task Force. Drawing from her lived experience as a survivor, along with her background in Indigenous policy, advocacy, and traditional knowledge, Starla works to advance justice, strengthen community healing and protection, and uplift Indigenous voices.Â

Our keynote speakers will be joined by Kati Ann Dussl, Ganawenindiwag (DVSA) Program Manager, St Croix Tribal Human Services. This interactive panel will explore survivor-centered care, prevention strategies, and the real-life impact of community support.Â

Eau Freedom Fun Run & Fest 2026
We were so disappointed to have to cancel our July 15 Eau Freedom Fun Run & Fest, but in light of the historic smoke and health risks, we’re also grateful we made the right decision for our community.
Nonetheless, our Sponsors did their part, and we sure appreciate their understanding, support, and continued belief in Fierce Freedom.Â
