Joyce met Fierce Freedom just two months before her 55 birthday. She had been learning about human trafficking, telling others about the issue, and wanted to put some action behind her words. She had decided to use her birthday as a platform to do just that. Her goal was to raise $550 for Fierce Freedom, and when all was said and done, her total was closer to $1400. Her Birthday for a Cause was a shopping party. It started with one supporter, Sandy's Clothing & Gifts, at Banbury Place, and grew from there to include a dozen more giving 20% of sales that day to Fierce Freedom!
