The Student Library Advisory Board, also known as SLAB, is a collaboration between FHU Libraries and the student body. Through a strong relationship between SLAB members and library staff, students will be able to share concerns and ideas that will help FHU Libraries better serve the entire community.
At our regular meetings, SLAB members offer feedback on library policies, services, and resources. Members represent a variety of academic disciplines and are able to inform library staff about the diverse needs of the student body. SLAB members are the first to hear about proposed changes to the library, and their concerns and suggestions shape new events, services, and policies.
Our meetings allow members to ask about everything from hours of operation to the reasoning behind certain policies. Library staff can then explain how or why the library does things a certain way -- and find a way to better communicate that to students as a whole.
We are looking for new members! If you are interested in joining in Spring 2026, please fill out the Student Library Advisory Board application form.
