Friday, June 7th: All day O&A from 9-1:30pm at Hagg Lake: challenge hike & end-of-year celebration.
PLEASE make sure your kiddo is dressed for the weather and has socks/shoes appropriate for a hike.
PLEASE send a labeled water bottle with your child.
If applicable, apply sunscreen before school. Students are welcome to wear a hat.
Wednesday, June 12th:
Bridging Ceremony
When: 1-3 p.m. Weds., June 12 (doors open 12:45 p.m.)
Where: Taylor-Meade Auditorium/Pacific University - campus map
What: : Bridging is a ceremony celebrating students in 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th grades who are ‘bridging’ or moving up to the next level at FGCS or graduating and heading off to high school. All students and staff attend the ceremony. Who: Parents and other family members of bridging students are also invited to attend this ceremony as well as recent alumni to ‘receive’ our Bridging 8th graders, so please spread the word if you have one of those in your life.
IMPORTANT NOTE: All students will return to FGCS for dismissal after the ceremony. For safety reasons, students will not be released to parents at the auditorium.
Thursday, June 13th:
Last Day of School: Field day
12:10 p.m. Dismissal
Field Day takes place at Lincoln Park the morning of the last day of school (Thurs., June 13). Please make sure your students wear athletic shoes and bring a water bottle that day. Field Day is a students and staff only event. Students will be offered snacks at Field Day but lunch will not be served because it’s a short school day but students are welcome to bring a home lunch. Dismissal is at 12:10 p.m. IMPORTANT NOTES:
All students will return to FGCS for dismissal after Field Day. For safety reasons, students will not be released to parents at the park.
Buses will run their regular routes on the last day with drop off times three hours earlier than usual. The school office will close promptly at 12:30 p.m. on June 13 for a staff event.
Dressing for Cold & Rainy Weather :
It's imperative that students come to school with warm layers of clothing, warm socks and rain gear (shoes/coats). We strongly recommend that students keep a change of clothes in their backpacks. Gloves, hats and rain gear will continue to be needed in the new year! Reminder: We do not allow students to use umbrellas during the school day.

NOTE: Students can also bring extra clothes/socks/shoes that they can keep in their backpack.
