In 1976, he got Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Hokkaido University, in 1979 Master of Science in Agriculture from Kyoto University, and in 1984 got Doctor of Agriculture from Kyoto University. In 1981 he was Assistant Professor in Ishikawa Prefectural College, and then moved to Hokkaido University, and then moved Shimane University as Associate Professor, and then moved to Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology in 1993, and in 2001 he became Professor and retired in 2019.
His work was focused on agricultural engineering, precision agriculture and community-based approaches. His research interests included real-time soil sensing, foods and waste supply chain, and the organization of learning groups of farmers and engineers for the community-based precision agriculture. In addition, he has been actively involved in the development of agricultural machines, such as deep rotary tillage, and in Phytotechnolgy based on speaking-plant approaches. He is the editor and co-author of the book “Precision Agriculture” (in Japanese). This book describes the Japanese model to the community-based precision agriculture and how it relates to science, technology and business storyboards. It also explains how to organize a community to push precision agriculture practices. He is also a co-author of the “Handbook of Precision Agriculture” (Ed. Ancha Srinivasan), where he describes the worldwide state-of-the-art of soil sensing technologies available for precision agriculture

Dao The Anh is Vice-President of Vietnamese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (VAAS).
With PhD (2004) in Agricultural, Rural and Food Economics in Montpellier, France and Engineer diploma in Agronomy at Hanoi Agricultural University, Dao The Anh has developed a carrier of 30 years in research for development focusing on agricultural economics, policies, family farming, agro-ecology, food safety, agri-food value chain governance and rural development.
He is also Vice-President of Vietnam Science for Rural Development Association, Editor in Chief of Vietnam Journal of Sciences and Technology. He is recently nominated as Head of Agriculture, Hydraulic session in Vietnam Encyclopaedia Edition Board.
Dr. Rozhan Abu Dardak
Former Deputy Director General, MARDI, Malaysia
Dr. Rozhan Abu Dardak was a Senior Principal Research Officer at the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI). He was retired from the government services in 2019, and currently work as a senior consultant at a local consultant company. Prior to his retirement Dr Rozhan has served as the Director of Economics and Social Science Research Centre, the Director of Technical Services and Commercialization of Technology Centre, and the Director of Strategic Planning and Innovation Management Centre. His last position was the Deputy Director General (Operation). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Resource Economic form Universiti Putra Malaysia, MBA from the Birmingham Business School, England, and DBA from National University Malaysia. He has vast experiences in undertaking research on marketing agricultural produce, innovation management and technology transfer.

Prof. Tahlim Sudaryanto, Ph.D is Senior Agricultural Economist at the Indonesian Center for Agriculture Socio Economic and Policy Studies (ICASEPS), Ministry of Agriculture, the Republic of Indonesia, and member Board of Trustees, International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), Philippines. Prior to his current position, he has held several senior management positions at the Ministry of Agriculture. He holds a doctorate degree in economics from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. His major interest is on rural economies and food policy. Currently he serves as a contracted partner of the Food and Fertilizer Technology Center (FFTC), Taiwan. In 2019-2020 he served as Independence Steering Committee on the CGIAR Research Program on Global Rice Value Chain. In 2015 he served as a Commissioner at the Second Murdoch Commission on Food Security, Trade and Partnership, Murdoch University, Australia. In 2013-2014 he also participated as a member of International Advisory Committee, Food&Business Global Challenges Program, Netherland Organization for Scientific Research (NWO), Netherland.

Dr. Yoshihisa Godo

Yoshihisa Godo received his PhD degree from the University of Kyoto in 1992. His areas of research include development economics and agricultural economics. Professor Godo’s Development Economics (3rd edition), co-authored with Yujiro Hayami and published by the Oxford University Press in 2005, is especially well known. His book written in Japanese, Nihon no Shoku to Nou (Food and Agriculture in Japan), received the 28th Suntory Book Prize in 2006, one of the most prestigious academic book prizes in Japan. He belongs to the International Zheng He Society as an honorary advisor.
