Mon Valley Arts (MVA), a program of SEE CLEAR, is a McKeesport community collaborative that cultivates and implements Creative Placemaking and Placekeeping projects in the lower Mon Valley area. Our communities of focus include McKeesport, Duquesne, Clairton, and the surrounding neighborhoods.

MVA utilizes the vehicles of Creative Placemaking and Placekeeping as a means for grass roots community engagement, a beautifier to neighborhood blight, and to foster key opportunities to increase the creative economy for local youth and adult artists of all disciplines. 

Creative Placemaking and Placekeeping are the practices of enhancing a neighborhood’s quality of life through arts, culture, and intentional community and economic development. Established in the Mon Valley in 2023, MVA is comprised of SEE CLEAR staff, artists, local residents, area non-profits, business owners, and youth volunteers who work in combination with the City of McKeesport, and other Mon Valley municipal leaders in collaborative motion.
