Updates

-23 SEP 2025: SOP and Drill Cards are being updated.  Regulation Drill Card WILL change.  Cards and SOP will be posted 30 Sep 25.

-23 SEP 2025: Registration will open on 1 OCT 2025.

-23 SEP 2025: 

Major changes in SOP: Regulation and Inspection teams must be 12 plus Commander. 

Both Armed and Unarmed Color Guard and Inspection our now included events. 

-08 OCT 2025: SOP Updated and corrected.

-23 OCT 2025: Armed Regulation HJ Scorecard corrected to reflect "Column of Threes to the Left."

-14 NOV 2025: Saber CG will be added as an open CG category and compete on the 5280 CG floor.  They will only compete against other saber CG's.

- 14 NOV 2025: Addition of "Rocky Mountain Drill Leader's Camp" tab on home page.

- 10 DEC 2025: Addition of "Saber Color Guard" to SOP.  This is a stand alone event.  

- 30 JAN 2026: Appendix D paragraph D-5. Right Shoulder Arms.  It is grammatically incorrect.  "Execute count one, the command of execution ARMS, the same as in executing Port Arms.  On count two, release the grasp of the right hand and grasp the heel of the butt between the first two fingers with the thumb and forefinger touching."  This is a poor way of saying that you execute count one of Port Arms..you don't execute Port Arms.  The pictures On page D-7 are incorrect for count one of Right Shoulder Arms from Order Arms.  It should show count one of Port Arms.  The rest of the pictures are correct.

"For 2025 and beyond:

1) Teams must use hardwood poles of minimum 8' and equal height; ( 9' 6" staffs may be used but do not add a scoring advantage)

2) The Colors must be a minimum of 3' x 4';

3) The organizational flag must be a state flag or JROTC flag ONLY;

4) Fringe is OPTIONAL on all flags; and

5) All Army teams MUST use a SPADE as their top finial while all other services must use a finial IAW their service manual."

With these rules now in place, judges will no longer be told to utilize any subjectivity on the degree of difficulty anything maintains to execute - they "judge what they see as they see it".
