The current accountability system is difficult for stakeholders to understand and creates challenges in identifying and evaluating continuous improvement goals for the district and its schools.

A school effectiveness system is intended to build greater understanding and foster more meaningful communication between Fountain-Fort Carson School District’s families and the community to support and inform effective schools, student learning, instruction, and professional development. A school effectiveness system can also support more effective alignment of actions and intentions of parents, students, staff, and administration to ensure a collective commitment to highly effective schools and increased student efficacy.

Annual School Self-Assessment Timeline 

A variety of school leadership teams play a major role in the different phases of the process. They will facilitate and guide self-reflection and provide support for action planning with stakeholders. Stakeholders systematically gather and analyze evidence to assess both student performance and the various systems within the school. As illustrated in Figure 1 above, the following are completed by each school:
