● The district hired a total of 300 new employees in support of the 2021-22 school year

● The district employed 39 classified substitutes, 149 certified substitutes

Continue District commitment to strategic and assertive recruitment and hiring plans for certified and classified staff
Progress Update
FFC8 welcomed 23 student teachers, 4 Counseling interns, 1 SLP intern, 1 SLPA intern,1 nurse intern. We also welcomed 27 students who completed their field observation hours for their degree program.
The Teachers in Residence Program placed 5 University of Colorado, Colorado Springs student teachers full time in two of our town elementary schools in their final year of education preparation. This guaranteed them a minimum of five substitute assignments per month in their assigned school.
FFC8 hosted our first career fair in April, 2022. This fair was focused on all positions. To date, we have hired 1 trades position and 1 transportation employee from this fair.
Enhance professional development focused on executive leadership (principals and district administrators)
Progress Update
The district participated in the Pikes Peak Leadership Academy for the Principal
Induction Program, which was also facilitated by veteran administrator mentors. Seven
district level administrators participated in the academy, qualifying them for their
Professional Principal License, while 4 veteran district administrators facilitated induction
classes as part of the program.
Implement new mentor program, executive coaching, and orientation program for principals
Progress Update
The district’s mentoring program included a minimum of 13 Building Coordinators, with at least one at each school, that supervised 118 mentors to provide support for 140 mentees.
The Mentor Program focuses on the following goals:
To improve educators’ personal and professional well being
To increase educators’ satisfaction with the profession
To provide educators with an increased knowledge base and improved professional skills
To foster knowledge, skills and attitudes in educators that will allow them to achieve success in the classroom
To provide collegial support and an on-going dialogue about teaching for both mentors and new educators to District 8
To acclimate educators with experience to their new environment, including but not limited to, social, curricular, and academic
Provide the highest quality work environment to support professional learning and collaboration focused on student learning
Progress Update
HR leadership was visible and accessible across the district, engaged with staff to listen, and followed up on opportunities and issues.
HR leadership provided harassment prevention training and child abuse training to staff.
HR provided updates to board policy and employee handbooks.
District educators, staff and community received high-quality customer service from front desk HR Specialists and administrative assistants.
