VISION STATEMENT
The Multimedia Arts program aims to produce globally competitive graduates with outstanding technical abilities, professionalism and high-principled values.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Multimedia Arts program is committed to deliver industry-standard curriculum that fosters creativity through varying platforms. The department also aims to address a continuous adaptation on emerging trends and technologies in multimedia in order produce highly competent graduates.
PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
The Bachelor of Multimedia Arts (BMMA) program aligns itself to the rapid convergence of media technologies and practices by developing conceptual, technical, aesthetic, and professional competencies for effective, critical and innovative storytelling across a range or combination of media forms for various purposes. It recognizes that digital media collapse different modes of expression and communication networks that allows for an interface of the local and global, the national and transnational.
The BMMA program is designed to respond to the requirement in the discipline for graduates to be familiar with a wide range of media forms; and to provide the theoretical foundations and practical experience to develop skills in creative storytelling and expression for various purposes and contexts. The program aims to create competent digital artists and communicators capable of disseminating a national idiom whereby Philippine cultural contexts, identities, and formations are articulated in global discourse.
The goal of the BMMA program is to develop within students the knowledge and skills that will enable them to communicate effectively, critically, and creatively across a range of new media technologies and forms, and to develop multimedia projects for various purposes.
The graduates of the Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia program are:
engaged in further professional development and have interest in or aptitude for advanced studies or trainings in multimedia and graphics design and technology;
entrepreneurs or are employed in creative and multimedia industries, organizing and managing team-based projects leading to successful and sustainable multimedia products and solutions;
responsible professionals actively participating in community groups that make a significant impact in addressing current and future societal challenges.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES
Design multimedia projects creatively, based on a knowledge of multimedia and communication theories, aesthetic principles and approaches.
Critically evaluate and articulate the societal, aesthetic communicative and ethical value of a multimedia project based on global trends and issues in multimedia technologies, design, and practice.
Demonstrate proficiency in the visual arts required in the production of multimedia projects.
Demonstrate technical proficiency in the use of the appropriate technologies required in the production of multimedia projects.
Demonstrate professionalism and ethical behavior in the practice of multimedia in the creative industries and other community contexts.
Collaborative effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
