About Mr. Locken

Hello! My name is David Locken and I am the social studies teacher at Fessenden-Bowdon High School. I grew up on a farm North of the small town of Aneta, ND with my parents, Eugene and Barb, and my sisters, Sara and Megan. I also have 2 nephews, Riley and Graham, and a niece, Aubrey Mae. In August of 2021, I married my wife Kylah.

In 2008 I graduated from Dakota Prairie High School. I was involved in many activities in high school (One Act Play, SADD, concert band, pep band, regional music competitions, National Honor Society, academic challenge, senior class president, yearbook).  After high school I attended Mayville State University, graduating in December of 2012 with my degree in Social Science Education with a minor in Library, Media, and Information Science. While in college I worked for the library, tutored for social studies and library science courses, and was president of our honor society Alpha Phi Sigma. In May 2023, I graduated from the University of North Dakota with my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. This allows me to also hold a school principal credential.

In August of 2013, I began teaching at Fessenden-Bowdon. Along with my classroom duties, I am the Close Up Advisor, Sophomore Class Advisor, AdvancEd/Cognia Co-Chair, and substitute bus driver. If you have any questions, please contact me.
