My name is Mackenzie Dietz and I am the librarian and technology director at Fessenden - Bowdon School!

My family is comprised of Valley City State University alum and North Dakota teachers! My mom, Cindy, is a TItle 1 & ELL Coordinator. My sister, Shelby, is the business teacher at Midkota Public School. Troy, my brother, studies Health and Physical Education at Valley City State University and is set to graduate in December of 2024, and his fiance Alaina, is the FACS teacher at Valley City High School. My dad works at the Doosan Bobcat Factory in Gwinner, the lone non teacher of the crew. :)

I grew up in Gwinner, North Dakota, a town in the southeast corner of the state. I graduated from Valley City State University with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in Library Media and Information Sciences. Here in Fessenden, I serve on the Fessenden Ambulance Service. I am also the First Tech Advisor and manage the Summer Reading Program at the school.

I love working in Fessenden and being the librarian and technology director! I enjoy finding information, reading, and learning! Additionally, implementing and working with technology is always something I have enjoyed doing. So, this job is a perfect fit! I am so grateful to have been given this opportunity and I love being the librarian and technology director at Fessenden - Bowdon.

In July of 2023, I was fortunate to be accepted as an Amazon Future Engineer Teacher Ambassador. In this two year program, I talk with teachers to determine the needs in Computer Science and in turn work with Amazon in developing, modifying, and promoting Computer Science products & careers.
