Fern is a 16-year-old, non-binary writer working to become a fiction and fantasy author! Their birthday is on May 19, and they are based in New Jersey, USA. They are a junior in high school and are currently exploring colleges. When not writing or doing homework, you can find Fern performing in the marching band, hosting meetings for their school's Domestic Arts Club, and participating in other musical ensembles in their area. Outside of that, Fern loves to travel, analyze TV shows and movies, hang out with friends, attend street fairs, stare into the void, and create in many different mediums aside from writing!
Fern is incredibly passionate about art and believes it is essential to society, which is one of the many reasons they want to contribute to art and show others who may be doubtful that they can pursue art as well, regardless of their interests, age, or what others may tell them! They believe that art is for everyone, and it is created out of love. Fern hopes to be successful in their chosen field. They also hope to encourage others to make their dreams a reality!
For as long as they can remember, Fern has loved telling stories. Although their academic writing has always been quite strong, it had consistently shone through in their personal narratives. Fern has also always loved to escape reality through vivid daydreams that usually included the soundtrack to whatever music they were interested in at the time. When Fern was small, they got into a chibi character-creator app, where they made up characters that they now hold very close to their heart. In fifth grade, Fern started drafting silly fictional tales led by fun-loving protagonists in worlds filled with magic. During the Covid shutdown in March of that year, Fern connected with now-close friends who shared their love for crazy stories and crazier characters. They collectively made several things together and went through many phases. Those friends were instrumental in the course of Fern's life.
"I went from the kid who had no idea what to do with their future to a writer confidently carving their path to tomorrow."
