The Ferguson-Florissant School District has a diverse student body from which it seeks to develop a pipeline of highly qualified teacher candidates. The district has current partnerships with St. Louis Community College-Florissant Valley for students interested in Early Childhood Education and University of Missouri-Columbia (MIZZOU) for students interested in K-12 Education.
The district will support students by ensuring that they have access to all relevant professional development opportunities. Mentors will also be assigned from both the district and the partner post-secondary institution. Furthermore, all students will be guaranteed interviews for permanent placement at the end of their teacher preparation program and they have passed their respective certification assessments.
In addition, under the Missouri Land Grant Compact, MIZZOU will cover all tuition and fees for all full-time Pell eligible Missouri residents. For those entering the Honors College, the grant will also pay for room and board.
