Sight Words

Sight words are words that appear the most frequently in the text people read, but can't easily be sounded out. Learning sight words helps children become more fluent readers. This is our list of kindergarten sight words / "Rainbow Words". Students learn two words per week and are expected to learn to spell, read, and write these words. Rhyming Words

Rhyming words are words that have the same or similar ending sound. Rhyming is an important early reading skill. Kindergarten students who can hear the rhyming sounds in words and produce rhyming words, are demonstrating phonemic awareness, which is essential for reading.
