Overview
The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) provides funding for enrichment programs for transitional kindergarten (TK) through sixth grade. “Expanded learning” means before school, after school, summer, or intersession learning programs that focus on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of pupils through hands-on, engaging learning experiences.
At Fenton Primary Center, ELO-P consists of before school and after school clubs, as well the THINK Together program .
After School Clubs: Parents that are interested in having their child participate in the after school ELOP clubs, must first complete a parent interest survey prior to the beginning of each session. Parents will then receive a confirmation letter to confirm their child's enrollment. Each sessions is 6-8 weeks long.
The survey helps the school organize the group of students that form the clubs. Our goal is to provide differentiated enrichement. We want our students to have fun while they learn as they participate in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math infused activities. The after school clubs meet everyday except Wednesdays. On shortened days all clubs are canceled ( click in the "schedule" tab for shortened days ).
THINK Together's Afterschool Expanded Learning Program provides students with the tools they need to succeed through early learning, afterschool, summer and in-school expanded learning programs.
FPC and THINK Together have formed a partnership to support students and working families. Families that need a free program the supports with homework, enrichment activies, and field trips must first place their child's name on the wait list. The wait list form is located in the main office. The site coordinator will then contact the parents upon availability.
