"Creative Democracy" is an Erasmus project that invites students aged 16–18 to explore the intersection of artistic expression and democratic values through two engaging, multi-faceted exchange mobilities: a one-week program in Manresa (January 2025) and a one-week program in Łódź, Poland (March 2025). Twelve students will participate in each part of the exchange.
This project is closely aligned with our school’s Erasmus Plan, which emphasizes the use of project-based methodologies, participation in a network of European partner schools, the maximum internationalisation of the school environment, and the improvement of foreign language learning through meaningful, real-world experiences.
At the heart of the project is a Model United Nations (MUN) simulation, where participants will debate and propose resolutions on topics such as cultural freedoms and the role of the arts in promoting democracy. A collaborative mural workshop will allow students to translate these ideas into visual form, reflecting themes such as equality, freedom, and civic engagement.
Additional workshops—ranging from creative writing and spoken word to performance art—will deepen students' understanding of how the arts can serve as a powerful medium for advocacy, intercultural dialogue, and social change.
The project aims to promote democratic values and active citizenship among young people by engaging them in creative, collaborative, and intercultural experiences. Through artistic expression, participants will explore and deepen their understanding of democratic principles and political systems, while fostering inclusion and mutual understanding. By using creativity as a tool to reflect on civic and social themes, the project encourages students to critically engage with topics such as equality, freedom, and participation. It also supports intercultural dialogue and helps build a shared European identity, empowering students to see the arts as a catalyst for social change and a powerful means of expressing democratic ideals.
