The Dog-Eared Page
Rae as a Reader
I have had a love affair with reading from a very young age -- it has always been an escape for me. Unfortunately, when I started at UCD reading was put on the back-burner a bit -- I got so busy, and this great love of mine was suddenly taking a backseat to the demands of adulthood. Since becoming a teacher, I've discovered another side to reading -- that of a guide and a mentor, not just as a consumer. I love working with my students while they discover the nuances of books and to help foster a love of reading. I will say, while I still lead a very busy life, when I am able to carve out the time for reading (and I've certainly found some of that this summer) I find that my life simply feels fuller, and when it gets too stressful, there's always escape available in the pages of a book.

Let Me Take a Shelfie
My bookshelf is ever-evolving and often cluttered, but it's certainly well-loved. Recently however, I've been relying much more on my library app (Overdrive) -- listening to Audiobooks and reading E-Books has become my new normal.
