For many families, Christmas 2020 will look very different from previous years. Some families may have lost loved ones over the past year and although we hope for a merry Christmas, we know sadness and grief is still a part of our lives. Mr. Rogers said "Confronting our feelings and giving them appropriate expression always takes strength, not weakness. It takes strength to acknowledge our anger(...) It takes strength to face our sadness and to grieve and to let our grief and our anger flow in tears when they need to. It takes strength to talk about our feelings and to reach out for help and comfort when we need it." From The World According to Mister Rogers

Use this list of questions to discuss with an adult what we can do to support each other during the holiday season. This list is based off of the 7 Tips to Support Grieving Children during the Holidays from mindfulnessandgrief.com

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is what we call a folktale. It is a story past down orally from generation to generation and usually encompasses the culture of the people or area. This story is one of the very first folktales of America with many adaptations both in film and literature. Other American folk tales include Paul Bunyan and Johnny Appleseed. They may change details from time to time but the plot of the story usually remains the same. Check out Disney's version of Sleepy Hollow here!
