LIP - Laboratory for Instrumentation and Experimental Particle Physics
Coordinator of the dosimetry group at LIP (Laboratory of Instrumentation and Experimental Particle Physics). In this presentation I will address the work developed for the calculation of atomic parameters involving tens of thousands of transitions and the applications of these parameters in Medical Physics, Nuclear Physics and other areas.

Aldo Antognini is a permanent staff and lecturer at the Paul Scherrer Institute and ETH Zurich, Switzerland. His field of interest is low-energy particle physics at the precision and intensity frontiers. His main activities are related with laser spectroscopy of exotic atoms, the development of high-power lasers and novel low-energy muon beams for particle, atomic and solid state physics applications. He is spokesperson of the CREMA and muCool collaborations. In 2012 he has been awarded by the Gustav-Hertz-Preis for the measurement of the proton radius via muonic hydrogen spectroscopy and presently he is holding an ERC-Consolidator grant.
