I am a transplant to TN.  I grew up in Northern Illinois and moved to TN after graduating high school.  I moved to Lawrenceburg, TN and attended Columbia State Community College before attending MTSU for a bachelors of science degree.  I also earned a master's degree from MTSU in curriculum.  

I have taught in Franklin County for twenty-four years.  I spent seventeen years at Decherd Elementary where I taught kindergarten, third grade, and fifth grade.  The next seven years I taught at South Middle School in sixth grade ELA and eighth grade ELA.  In 2021 I moved over to North Middle School to teach 7th grade ELA.  

Outside of school I spend my free time with my family.  I am married to Todd Harper and we have two children, Chase and Abby.  We have one granddaughter, Carmen.   When I have free time I love to craft and crochet.
