Every thing below this section is from the 2024-2025 school year.
Spanish 1 students studied Quinceañera celebrations and learned to dance
"el vals" (the waltz).
Computer Science students programmed Finch Robots using Snap! coding.
Spanish 1 students learned about famous Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo!
After learning about her life and works of art, students made a 'Frida-style' self-portrait.
Spanish 2 students competed in a "Conjugation Madness" Tournament to see who knew the present, preterit, and imperfect tenses best!
Winner-4th period Carson Riley
Winner-6th period Lorena Dominguez
Spanish 1 students learned about important plants and crops in Colombia.
Students researched 4 crops then drew a picture of the plant and found 2 facts about its role in Colombia.
Computer Science students created an app to make a decision using variables, conditionals, and functions.
Students designed their apps from start to finish and included design, writing code, and writing functions to make the code more efficient.

Like or dislike the picture and see the icon change with the number of dislikes.
Decides the appropriate ammunition based on location, animal, and terrain.
Makes an outfit suggestion based on the weather and occasion.
Generate your movie ticket price based on time of day and if you want popcorn.
Spanish 1 students read Pobre Ana and created a comic strip to summarize the story.
Ana is a girl from California who has problems with her family and friends. She is offered the opportunity to spend the summer in Mexico with a family. There, she realizes how fortunate her life in the US is and returns with a grateful attitude.
Computer Science students learned about variable, conditionals, and functions in coding.
For the Variables "Make" project, students created the code for a photo liker app. To create functional code, students had to create variables, assign a value to each variable, and create expressions with assignment operators.
Spanish 2 students learned about the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso's life and works of art, including the blue, pink, surrealism, expressionism, and cubism periods.
Then they completed one of three project options:
1. Create their own Guernica drawing representing an impactful event in their life.
2. Create a drawing that fits in to one of Picasso's periods.
3. Create memes with works from each of Picasso's five periods.
Computer Science students set a personal or academic SMART goal to work on from January through May. Then they created a digital vision board to encourage and motivate them to accomplish the goal.
Computer Science students made their first app!
Students designed and programmed the code for an app that can teach someone something about a topic that interested them. Students learned how to design user interfaces, begin programming, and practice debugging strategies to fix errors in code.
Students completed activities to review
for the Mid-Year Assessment.
Students made a copy of an app's interface to demonstrate their understanding of making an app screen on the code.org design platform.
In Unit 3, Computer Science students are learning to design and develop their own apps. Exploring sample apps introduced students to User Interface Design.
Spanish 1 students learned about Día de los Muertos by researching information about the celebration, making comparisons on cultural views on death, and creating a virtual ofrenda.
Students chose a famous person or family member that has passed away to honor with their ofrenda. They included traditional and personal items and presented their ofrenda to the class.

*Kenny Rogers
Spanish 1 students completed the Unit 3 Performance Assessment by creating and delivering a conversation.
In Unit 3, students learned about greetings, introductions, identifying oneself and others, and comparing greeting gestures.
Computer Science students created a computing network using strings to show how computers send data, like messages, to each other. Through several increasingly complex challenges, students had to follow rules and guidelines to create a network that allowed them to be connected to all other group members.
In Unit 2, students learned about how the Internet works and investigated political, economic, and social challenges related to the Internet.
Spanish 2 students completed the Unit 8 Performance Assessment by creating and portraying a scene in a restaurant.
In Unit 8, students learned about food, restaurants, table settings, and stem changing verbs.
