Based on the new changes to the Career Development Framework, all work study participants MUST complete the following requirements:
complete a level 1 CRD course - either Career & College Prep or Introduction to Career Research & Development
concurrent enrollment in Advanced Career Research & Development
The Work Study program is a structured educational experience. This provides students the opportunity to explore a possible career in while still in high school. Students attend high school classes for part of the day and their work site the remainder of the day. All students must have a work plan that is approved by their Work Based Learning Coordinator and their employer.
Students need to keep accurate records of their work schedules and submit timecards.
Need a Work Permit? The rules have changed! As of July, 2014, you no longer need to have a work permit issued by school personnel. Students, parents/guardians and employers now take care of this on their own. Click here for new rules!!
