A celebration of the year

You may be wondering, what is Theatre banquet? UHS Drama's banquet is our end of the year formal party to remember the year of theatre, recognize student accomplishments, look to the future, say farewell to the seniors and more.

Dinner

A delicious catered dinner is typically provided by our amazing Caterers Bella Cuisine.  The food is delicious and bountiful! As food is usually served buffet style, seniors eat first. Dinner place settings and cuisine are formal as well.  Typically it is an all you can eat pasta buffet and ice cream sundae bar.  There is payment for this event.

Board Member Activities

Thespian Honor Society Board Members plan a variety of fun activities during the Dinner portion of the evening.

I.T.S. Recognition - Induction Ceremony

The first part of the evening is to recognize those students who have fulfilled requirements to be a part of the International Thespian Honor Society.  Recognized as the only Honor Society for High School Theater students, the ITS Program inducts new students each year.  We also recognize students who advance levels into the society.  To be inducted, a student needs 30 credit points and be involved in a mainstage production.  Participation is highly encouraged.

Student Recognized Awards

At the conclusion of each year, suggestions for nominations are taken from students in a variety of categories.  Those nomination suggestions are then tallied and put into a ballot. Students have the chance to recognize their peers for individual achievements such as Outstanding Overall performer, best scene stealer, Stage Debut and more.

Directors awards

During directors awards, a large number of exciting awards are issued.  These awards are given by the Director in addition to the awards nominated by students.  These awards include Breakthrough Moment, Rising Stars, and the coveted Shooting Star Awards.

A sentimental slide show comprised of pictures of UHS Drama Seniors is presented.

End of year Video

A slide show of the overall view of the past year is shared with the organization - Oh the memories!

Season announcement

Before the evening is through, the director will announce the next year's season of plays! This is viewed by many as the most exciting part of the night; many try to predict the next year's plays. The director will announce the proposed plays, musical, and likely the One Act as well.
