Follow the Teacher Requirements and Student Sign-in Process detailed for each digital tool in the Approved Digital Tools list.
Maintain a list of the digital tools used in each class in Schoology. Include a link to the privacy policy for each tool for parents to access. Digital tool lists may be available by content and/or grade level via District Resources in Schoology.
Inform parents of their right to opt-out of their child's use of any of the non-Premium digital tools (see Level column of Approved Digital Tools list)
At the end of each course you teach, delete all student data, accounts, and courses you created in the non-Premium digital tools to the greatest extent possible. Student data related to your courses should not exist in these platforms after your course ends.
The following statement must be included in a Teacher's Syllabus.
As a Project Lead the Way student your child will be creating an account in PLTW, a third-party online tool that is used to access curriculum and assessments. Creating an account in this system is the only way your child can access exam results throughout their career. As their teacher, I will be assisting your child in creating this account. You can visit the following address to review the sites privacy policy, view the data they collect, and see how that data is used: https://www.pltw.org/privacy-policy Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns, or if you would not like your child to participate.
