Python and AI with cyber is a popular combination
Focus on cyber curriculum and using the US cyber range that is hosted in Virginia. They've been doing great things for a couple of years and have a bunch of resources. https://www.uscyberrange.org/
Open to a "train the trainer" model so if we have a couple of lead teachers who would want to be facilitators in training to offer the PD, and then get paid by MCCE to deliver it, let us know.
Please see the handout below outlining a cybersecurity opportunity for teachers and students during the summer of 2020 and the 2020-2021 school year.
Interested teachers will participate in a week-long professional learning opportunity during the summer.
The format of this professional learning opportunity (in-person or online) is pending and will be determined at a later date based on the most current health recommendations.
Upon successful completion of professional learning, teachers will be eligible to pilot curricula that are aligned to the new cyber education framework developed by the National Cryptologic Museum.
Pilot teachers will have the opportunity to earn 2 continuing professional development (CPD) credits and $800.00 upon completion of the pilot program.
The pilot program will include providing instruction to students using the curricula provided and participation in curriculum evaluation consisting of a survey and participation in approximately three, one-hour discussions.
Teachers and students will have access to the USACyberRange during professional learning and the curriculum pilot program.
Need approval of HS principals.
If your are interested in teaching cybersecurity but not participating in the pilot program please have them contact me at elissa.hozore2@maryland.gov.
