About Mrs. Caulfield and Mrs. De La Rosa

Mrs. Caulfield

I was born and raised in Frederick County and feel very fortunate to continue to be part of this amazing community. I graduated in 1998 from Linganore High School where I performed with all of the instrumental ensembles and the FCPS All County Band. I went on to attend Shepherd University where I received my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Music Education. While at Shepherd, I performed with the marching band, concert band, jazz ensemble, concert choir, orchestra and various small ensembles.

I began my teaching career in Frederick County as the the instrumental music director at Governor Thomas Johnson High School. While at TJ, I directed the marching and concert bands, as well as the jazz ensemble, percussion ensemble, and orchestra. I made the transition to teaching elementary instrumental music 8 years ago and truly enjoy watching the growth of students as they begin their musical journey. I am currently teaching elementary instrumental music at Ballenger Creek, Butterfly Ridge, Carroll Manor, Orchard Grove, and Tuscarora Elementary Schools and also instruct other ensembles within the Tuscarora Feeder Pattern.

I live in Frederick with my husband, Bill and my three beautiful children and our dog, Peyton.

I am looking forward to another great year with the 4th and 5th grade band and orchestra students!

Mrs. De La Rosa

I was born and grew up in Baltimore County, MD. While in high school, I participated in marching band, concert band, jazz band, all-county band, all-state band, all-eastern band and played piano for the show choir. I attended Shepherd College (now University), and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education. I also have my Masters of Music Education degree from Shenandoah University and my administrative certification from Hood College. During the 2019-20 school year, I earned my National Board Certification in Music (Band), ages 3-12.

I have been teaching for 26 years, 24 of those in elementary school. I have been living and teaching in the Tuscarora Feeder Pattern for the past 16 years and have loved watching students in our community grow from young beginning instrumentalists to mature young adult musicians. Some of my past students are now music teachers in FCPS!

I currently reside in Frederick, MD with my husband Kevin, 3 (almost) grown children, my mom, 3 dogs and a cat!
