A rubric is a scoring tool for students who are completing an assignment. Ideally, you would provide the students with the rubric when you are setting the assignment. It lists the success criteria for the piece of work. Then, once the teacher has assessed the work, the feedback is given to the student with just a few clicks.

When would you use this?

If you were giving an assignment on Google Classroom 

For example:

• A CBA that the students submit on GC

• A project for TY students to complete

• Leaving Certificate Project Work

You would mark and give formative feedback to the students simply by clicking on the relevant boxes (e.g., descriptors) in the rubric.
