Summer running is key to building the foundation for a successful season. During this time, we focus on building volume, improving aerobic abilities and strength! Our primary goal is to develop the aerobic engine!
Our summer training consists of distance runs, developing longer runs, recovery runs, and various aerobic workouts (fartleks and progression runs).
If you are a new / beginner runner, this is the perfect time to join our team! We will help you get comfortable running and slowly build your mileage to prevent injury and burnout.
Goals of Summer Running:
Introduce all of the athletes to the demands of running.
In addition to running, we will also introduce general strength, core work, and flexibility as well.
We will stress consistency and gradual progression of volume, intensity, etc.
