For our 3D Modeling Class, we will use the Engineering Design Process as it relates to 3D design across four different CAD softwares. Throughout the year we will use modeling concepts in TinkerCAD (and TinkerCAD Code Blocks), AutoCAD 2024, Blender CAD for 3D rendering and introduction to animation, as well as OnShape. All of these will assist in 3D printed projects.Â
TinkerCAD and OnShape are free online softwares that store all work online in a cloud setting (similar to a Google Drive). Students can access both as long as they have internet access and their account information. If you are interested in downloading Blender for your home computer, please visit here.
AutoCAD is not free but free trials are available to students. Students can download AutoCAD with a free trial with a student email/schedule/transcript. If you are interested in downloading AutoCAD at home, please visit here.
