About Me:
I graduated from Fox Creek High School in 2014. Since my eleventh grade year I dreamed of coming back to Fox Creek and teaching social studies. While I was in high school I was a teacher cadet (taught by Mrs. Nancy Cowart) and was involved in the football and baseball programs. After graduation I studied secondary education (social studies) and played baseball at The University of South Carolina Salkehatchie. After a year, I continued my education at USC Aiken. After spending a year there, my girlfriend (now wife) and I moved to Spartanburg, South Carolina and received our BAs at University of South Carolina Upstate.
While attending college at USC Upstate I coached baseball at Spartanburg High School for three years, where I had the opportunity to learn from many great coaches and befriended division one athletes, as well as many other talented athletes. I completed my student teaching at Chapman (3A), Chesnee (2A), Boiling Springs (5A), and Spartanburg High School (5A). I learned many different teaching strategies and observed talented teachers with a multitude of teaching philosophies.
After learning from many great coaches and teachers I plan to instill qualities such as accountability, discipline, respect, and compassion into my students. As a first year teacher, living my dream, I am excited to meet and teach my new students what they need to know in order to be successful for, not just higher education, but life as well.
