Our Model - What makes us unique?

FCF is a holistic, project-based "bridge" designed to translate Christian faith into practical social transformation across Thailand by developing projects with a unique vision and heart to share God’s love and proclaim the Gospel in specific contexts.  We seek to open doors to communities and families by sharing the love of God in practical, tangible ways (ministry in deed), so that we can share the Gospel and make disciples in places with very few or no Christians (ministry in Word). FCF is not an umbrella organization or simply a tool for obtaining legal status.

All ministries at FCF, also known as Projects, are largely autonomous and designed uniquely, but they all follow a basic level of structure and common processes that help us maintain high standards of legality and accountability. This is designed to empower our Projects to serve in the unique ways God has led them. Even though each project has its own focus, leadership, and staff, we all work together in strategic partnership as one family.

Our History - What are our roots?

In 2002, Pastor Tim & Denise Dunham came to serve at Chiang Mai Christian Fellowship Church. In 2006, FCF was established as the local outreach ministry of the church. One of the core beliefs of Christians is that God wants us to love people as He loves us. That means we are to show love and kindness to all people, regardless of their background or situation; the poor, orphans, outcasts, victims of abuse, and others in need. What started as an international church's local ministry to the poor has become a primarily Thai-led foundation with more than 80 Thai staff and 19 projects across Thailand, all sharing a mission to serve and love people like Jesus Christ.

Our Faith - What do we believe?

FCF has adopted the Lausanne Covenant as its Statement of Faith.

Our Legal Objectives - What does the Thai government authorize us to do?

Our license to establish a foundation under the Ministry of Interior includes the following legal objectives as approved by the governor of Chiang Mai.

1. Support and encourage strong, healthy families that are caring, loving, and nurturing.

2. Cooperate with Government agencies and private organizations to prevent and alleviate many social problems in Thai society.

3. Create institutions and training opportunities to advance ethics, religion, and morality for leadership development.

4. Assist children, youth, and teenagers by supporting education, sports, art, music, literature, and other educational opportunities.

5. Help, support, and take care of the disabled, the elderly, drug addicts, and inmates to be rehabilitated.

6. Establish counseling centers to offer counsel and advice in dealing with social problems—for example, family problems, relationship issues, drug and alcohol addictions, etc.

7. Support and organize IT training for individuals and interested organizations.

8. Help partner organizations of the foundation organize systems and provide management training.

9. Recruit foreign volunteers to participate in and support projects according to the foundation objectives and coordinate cooperation in their related operations.

10. Benefit Thai society through active partnership and cooperation with other foundations and entities.

11. Work exclusively on social issues with absolutely no involvement in politics or through political action.

Our Desired Outcomes - What are the long-term results of our work?

1. People will be transformed to live wisely, serve others sacrificially, and benefit their communities, inspired by the loving words and deeds of FCF staff and volunteers.

2. Disadvantaged, neglected, and disabled people will embrace their intrinsic value and learn to thrive with hope and purpose.

3. Delinquent and demoralized people will experience freedom from enslaving mindsets and destructive habits.

4. Impoverished and indebted people will experience financial self-sufficiency and freedom from crippling debt.

5. Unemployed and underemployed people will learn skills that will enhance their ability to find gainful employment or launch their own small business ventures.

6. Trafficked and abused people will escape exploitation and experience holistic healing.

7. Children will be protected, nurtured, educated, and coached by loving parents, teachers, and mentors until they are mature enough to live as responsible adults.

8. Incidents of abortion and child abandonment will decrease in Thailand as parents choose to either care for their children themselves or allow them to be adopted by other qualified parents.

9. Incidents of child abuse, human trafficking, and domestic violence will decrease in Thailand as perpetrators are prosecuted, and potential victims are educated about how to respond wisely to the dangers they face.

10. Husbands and wives will truly love each other and work together to create healthy, Christ-centered homes for themselves and their children.

11. Thai communities will prosper as they pursue viable, sustainable development.

12. Government agencies and other organizations will be inspired by FCF projects to serve people effectively and impartially within their spheres of influence.

13. The impact of FCF endeavors will be multiplied through mutually enriching collaboration with like-minded people and organizations.

14. People will choose to follow Jesus in response to the true gospel clearly explained and authentically modeled by FCF staff and volunteers.

15. Followers of Jesus will read and correctly understand the Bible so that its truth transforms and anchors their lives and ministries.

16. Followers of Jesus will gather in churches that glorify God and faithfully follow Jesus as they are equipped by servant leaders and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

17. Disciple-makers and church planters will support their families and ministries with profitable business ventures that enhance their ability to fulfill their ministry callings.
