Most Summer Academy courses are 1.0 credit courses. This means that a student will earn a full year’s credit for that course. 1.0 credit courses will require that the student work approximately 120 hours in order to complete the course. Half credit courses are offered for economics, personal finance, and credit recovery courses. Half credit courses will require approximately 60 hours to complete.
Regularly check Schoology email and FCCPS gmail and respond to all contact from your Summer Academy teacher.
Read the syllabus for your course and be aware of grading policies and course end date (July 30).
Use the Schoology or Turn it In “view assessment” or “view assignment” tool to see your teacher’s feedback on completed assignments.
Contact your teacher immediately if you have a question regarding your course or decide to drop your course.
Student grades and overall current progress will be posted in the Schoology gradebook. PowerSchool grades will be updated weekly with the student’s current grade on work completed and current completion rate.
There are no deductions for “late” work in Summer Academy courses. Students may work on their course as their schedule permits during the eight week Summer Academy term. Students must complete their final exam by the end of Summer Academy on July 30th at Noon. All outstanding coursework must be submitted by July 30 at 3pm. After that point, zeros will be entered for missing work and a final grade will be submitted unless the student requests a course drop.
All final course exams must be taken in-person during the week of July 25th. Students who need alternate arrangements should contact their course teacher.
All Meridinan High School Summer Academy online courses officially end on July 30, 2022 at 3:00pm. Final grades will be submitted after that date.
