The counseling and administrative teams have been focused the past few weeks on building a calendar for the registration of courses for the 2025-2026 school year. We have been coordinating with Collaboration Team Leaders (CTLs), Department Leaders (DLs), and Team Leaders (TLs) in both the middle school and high school. We have finalized the plans outlined here for families to learn about our course registration timeline. All evening sessions will be recorded and posted to the Meridian High School website under the Student Service tab titled Course Selection 2025-2026 (link).
Thank you to all the parents who joined us at our Parent Coffee this week on the subject of "Getting Involved Beyond the Walls of the Classroom."
Thank you also to our presenters -- Ms. Kish Rafique (Student Council advisor), Ms. Jan Healy (IB CAS Advisor), Ms. Tosin Adetoro (Sustainability Coordinator), and Mr. PJ Anderson (Interim Athletic Director) who spoke about ways kids get involved throughout their time at Meridian!
We share with you here the slides from the presentation as well as a collection of helpful links related to our discussion (all of which can be found on our main web site). Thank you again for your engagement and support!
Sophomore Class:
The first part of the Personal Project report, the planning phase, is due on December 9th. Students should focus on documenting their goals, research, and plans for the project. We recommended dedicating 3-5 pages to this phase, though the exact length may vary depending on the scope of the project.
All instructions, resources, past examples, and templates can be found on the Stable Group Schoology page. Please encourage your student to review these materials as they complete their work.
We’re also excited to remind you about the IB Showcase on March 10th, where students will present their completed projects to the community. Family members are warmly invited to join us and celebrate their achievements.
FAFSA Update
The 2025–26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form is available now at fafsa.gov! Students who plan to attend college, career school, or trade school between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026, should fill out the FAFSA form right away to be eligible for as much aid as possible. Students and families should not wait to receive admission decisions before applying for financial aid.
