Question: What happens when students have a negative balance on their account and I make a payment on My School Bucks in the morning?
Answer: When students do not have sufficient funds in their account, foodservice staff informs the student that they must select a complete meal, as purchasing à la carte items is prohibited. Despite account balances, we ensure that every student receives lunch; however, it must be a full meal. We have observed that some students choose not to take anything because they do not want the additional items that come with a complete meal. This policy aligns with FCCPS guidelines to prevent any student from going hungry and to ensure that students do not rely solely on snacks, such as chips, for lunch.
Please note that when parents deposit money into their child’s My School Bucks school account, the update occurs overnight. If funds are added in the morning, the balance will not reflect the deposit until the following day.
I hope this clarifies the policy and account update process.

As these illnesses are common at this time of year, it is important to know what you can do to protect your child and others."
