HITT Partnership Creates Safer Metro-to-Campus Walking Route

Starting January 2, 2025, while the Virginia Tech parking lot will still close for construction of the new HITT Contracting headquarters, we're pleased to announce an improved access solution for our students through a partnership with HITT Contracting.

Updated Student Walking Route from Metro Thanks to HITT Contracting's cooperation, students parking at the West Falls Church Metro Station will have a more direct route to campus:

• Students will be able to use a designated walkway through a secured corridor along the construction site

• A new temporary ramp will be installed at the athletic fence gate

• HITT Contracting will provide safety personnel to assist with traffic crossing at Falls Church Drive

• Clear signage will guide students along the route

Metro Parking Information Remains:

• Cost: $3.00 per day (payable via SmarTrip or credit card)

• Distance: Walking time now reduced due to more direct route

 Important Reminders:

• Students must follow school policy prohibiting access to to vehicles parked off campus during the school day.

• Gate will be open before school (7:55 - 8:35am) and after school (2:55 - 3:15pm) 

• Please use designated crossing points and follow safety personnel instructions.

• The new route will be operational starting January 6, 2025
