Concerning Chargers

The charger is not covered by insurance. The insurance policy is for damaged or stolen Chromebooks. If the charger is lost or damaged it will be treated like any other school device or property (ie. textbook). The student/parent will be responsible for replacement.

FCBOE has chosen SmartTech to insure school-issued devices given to students and faculty. Insurance with Smart Tech will protect the device against an assortment of damages. This insurance policy will provide full replacement cost coverage. This policy is also transferable to a replacement unit. *Please note that insurance does not cover the cost of lost or broken chargers.

Students are not required to purchase insurance to take the Chromebook home but the purchase of insurance is recommended once the Chromebook is in the student's care. Prorated costs for insurance are updated by FCBOE at the link below as, well.

The link will ask for the Asset Tag and Serial Number. These are located on the bottom of the Chromebooks. The Asset Tag is in the yellow or white sticker - 8 digit number. The Serial Number is under the sticker and printed directly on the computer - Service Tag S/N and it is 7 characters, letters and numbers.

  • You will need your student's Infinite Campus Id number (same as Reading Counts number) and specific Chromebook information.

  • Please see the image at left on where to find the serial number/asset tag for your child's device.
